Where coordination actually shows up: perps versus spot

We track four chains: Solana, Hyperliquid, Base and Ethereum. If you watch the live feed for a day, you will notice the mix is uneven perp activity has produced considerably more published signals so far than spot activity has. That surprises people who assume a signal engine simply reports whatever is busiest.

The explanation is about what each venue type reveals. On a perp venue, a position change is the event. Opening, adding, reducing and closing are all explicit, sized and directional. When several independent participants lean the same way inside a short window, that pattern is legible almost immediately.

Spot is messier. A single economic decision can appear as a chain of routed swaps across multiple pools, sometimes multiple tokens, sometimes split for slippage. The same conviction that shows up on a perp venue as one clean directional change shows up on spot as noise that has to be reassembled before it means anything. Reassembly is possible, but it introduces uncertainty, and uncertainty means the pattern has to be stronger before we are willing to publish it.

So the mix you observe is our filter being consistent, not our attention being uneven. The same standard of evidence is applied everywhere; it is simply easier to meet on venues where positions are explicit. As spot coverage deepens, the mix shifts but we would rather it shift because the evidence improved than because we lowered the bar to make the feed look balanced.

There is a trading implication here worth keeping. Perp flow tends to lead, because leverage lets conviction express itself before spot capital rotates. Spot flow tends to confirm. If you see the same name appear from a perp venue and then, hours later, from spot, that sequence is more interesting than either alert alone.
